Rio de Janeiro, 2020
Artist: Henriette Philippa Fee Seibert
Type: Print, Limited Edition of 10
Material & Size: Baryta Fine Art paper, 42.0 x 59.4 cm
Description: The photograph shows a building in Gávea framed by plants and electrical wires. Gávea is an affluent neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro. Even though Rio is a very urban city, one is often surprised by the density of forest alongside the buildings. The clear division between nature and city becomes blurry.
Henriette is a photographer from Berlin. Her first encounter with photography came through assisting Lovis Dengler while interning at the Water Mill Center, an interdisciplinary Art Center founded by Robert Wilson. Later on, the Berlin-based photographer Ramtin Zanjani introduced her to analogue photography and she has been practising ever since.
