Description: This building is located in Centro, the central zone in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. The architecture of the neighborhood is an astonishing mixture of historical buildings as well modern skyscrapers, like the one on the photograph. Fire escapes are typical functional elements of the architectural landscape in Centro.
Henriette is a photographer from Berlin. Her first encounter with photography came through assisting Lovis Dengler while interning at the Water Mill Center, an interdisciplinary Art Center founded by Robert Wilson. Later on, the Berlin-based photographer Ramtin Zanjani introduced her to analog photography and she has been practicing ever since.
