Jardim Botânico, Rio de Janeiro, 2018

Type: Print, Limited Edition of 10
Material & Size: Paper, 42.0 x 59.4 cm
Description: In this scene, shot at Jardim Botânico, one can barely see the Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ on the top of the outcrop in Rio de Janeiro. The statue looks impossibly small on the photograph despite being 30 meters tall with arms stretching 28 meters wide.
Henriette is a photographer from Berlin. Her first encounter with photography came through assisting Lovis Dengler while interning at the Water Mill Center, an interdisciplinary Art Center founded by Robert Wilson. Later on, the Berlin-based photographer Ramtin Zanjani introduced her to analogue photography and she has been practising ever since.
